  1. Hi:

I need help with a DVD I’m authoring with DVD-Lab.

The problem is that I am authoring a movie and creating a menu wtih DVDlab. The authored menu looks great and the quality of the movie is very good, however, the movie is somewhat “jumpy”. I really can’t say in a word what the problem is, but the video jumps or stops mainly when there is intense action. It is like the video stops in a frame for a fraction of a second. This is almost imperceptible to an untrained eye. However, I can see it. Since the movie is mainly an action movie, it happens a lot.

The video I am using to author is OK when I play it. So the problem happens when DVDLab Authors the movie. I even authored the movie with Ifoedit and the result is excellent (no jumpy video), however, no menus.

Do you have any idea why DVDLab (I’m almost sure it is DVDLab’s fault) is doing this with the video? How can I correct it? I really like the menus DVDLab does, but if I can’t solve the problem with DVDLab, what other program can I use to create good menus when authoring the movie.

    Thanks for your help.

  2. I experienced the same issue when testing out this software. On my JVC DVD recorder, it would skip a few frames every five or so seconds. On my Hitachi DVD player, it wouldn't allow forward scanning beyond 2 or 4X normal speed. TMPGEnc DVD Author doesn't appear to have these problems.
