An example of two such boards would be helpful. You can find either an Intel or an AMD socket board with a huge variety of specs although I have never heard of a motherboard with only one IDE channel.
If what you are saying is some kind of solid rule, then it would be because there is a chipset that exists for AMD that supports said feature and such a chipset for Intel does not exist. -
intel MSI 925XE Neo Platinum

I don't get your meaning. I went to Newegg quick to look at two Asus boards priced at ~$135 and came up with the A8V Deluxe socket 939 board and the P5GD1 socket 775 Intel board. AMD board has 2x IDE and 4x SATA, the Intel has the same. Only difference I could see between the two feature-laden boards is the Intel board supports PCI-E and the AMD board has onboard 1394. Kind of a toss up there IMO. Both are actually a great deal for the price, I thought.Originally Posted by AMD Fanboy

If you've got the money, go for SATAII (max throughput of 3Gbps).
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -

It looks like you are comparing two entirely different levels of Mobos. Of course, a lower priced Intel board will have less than a higher priced AMD board... then again, I really don't know what boards you are comparing and the price of each. Your whole question is just ridiculous as is.

What's ridiculous is that you didn't even bother to read enough of the thread to see that he posted the names of the two boards he is comparing and detailed specs.Originally Posted by smearbrick1

Sorry... noticed the comparison. Didn't see a price comparison. The Links he/she provided do not work. I maintain my original position.
