  1. 1) Used DVD Decrypter (rip and burn) and DVD Shrink (transcoding) combo to back up Spiderman 2 and was 98% successful. Only thing that didn't work was subtitles. Any thoughts on what I did/did not do to make this happen?

    2) The movie starts with a preview of upcoming flix. Where would I have found this and how could I have deleted it?

I KNOW there are forums and guides that contain the answers I seek. Only problem is that I'm too dumb tupidme: to know what to look for. Don't understand the terminology. REALLY need someone to baby-step me thru these. Thanks so much.

Did you leave any of the boxes unchecked before you ran the backup? Maybe that's why they're missing.

I don't recall. Can you link me to a guide (the ones w/actual screen captures are AWESOME!) that shows me what I should and shouldn't have checked for both DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink? Please, please, please?

I use VOBBlanker to identify the bits I don't want, and then process to end up with a new set of VOBs, IFOs and BUPs. I then shrink these (if needed) and burn.

There's also TitleSetBlanker, but I've not used it.

Its hard to tell you what you did wrong when we dont know what you did exactly.

If i was you i would find a guide and follow it

lots of good guides to the left, theres a good one from vdk_au that uses vobblanker to blank out parts you dont want

ive had success with guides at this site www.dvdshrink.info

if you have a problem with a step in the guide post back and its easier to help you through the step than to try and work out what you may have or may not have done wrong.

sac is right , if theres no subtitles then you may have unticked all the boxes

i could link you to the relavent guides but im like you i dont like researching and reading

    It's not that I don't like it, it's that I don't know what I'm looking for.

DVDShrink is pretty intuitive to use - there's no real quirks or pitfalls. Find a guide (sifaga's already referenced a good one) and use that in conjunction with hunting around the tool. With straightforward tools like this, diving in usually works OK.

    Good luck.

Pardon the obscurity of this (and I'll put it as nicely as I can), but ...

Do you expect the bathroom attendant to hold your johnson while you excrete ?

Surely it isn't too much to ask to go to the guides section, select DVDShrink as the tool, and then read a few of the guides associated with this program ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

Actually hate it when there's an attendant in there. Makes me VERY uncomfortable knowing there's someone waiting for me to finish. Thanks for asking.

    Well, to complete the analogy:

Regulars here hate it when there's someone who wants someone else to explain it with pretty pictures and baby steps, when all the information is at the tip of your fingers

    To answer the question:

The section where arrow 4 points to is where you can select or deselect subtitles in DVDShrink.

    BTW, read this also
    If in doubt, Google it.

  12. Jim, you have been sarcastic, short-tempered, ill mannered, and downright rude with me at times. But MOST importantly, you have been RIGHT ON THE FREAKIN' MONEY you beautiful man you!!! This is why the subtitles didn't work, because I didn't check/untick ANY of the Subpicture boxes. Thank you VERY MUCH!
