  1. I capatured my wedding video from my sony hi8 camcorder to my jvc dvd recorder which i then put on to dvd so i could edit it with pinncale 9. I soon found out that i had to change the vob files which after alot of messing round with programs (all weekend ) i ended up with one file in mpeg .When i put the file into pinnacle 9 it worked fine all the clips came up in the time line but it still would not play them . Can anyone help as I have messed around with this for about 2 weeks and still not getting anywhere

    This is easy.

    Extract JVC discs:

Convert AC3 to PCM in Besweet.

Dump Pinnacle 9 if you can, it's usually crap.
If you have the codecs, Vegas and Premiere can import it. Free software also exists (Avid Free DV), as does MPEG editors (Womble MPEG Video Wizard).

    Have fun, good luck.

I'll second that, my first foray into the digital video world was clicking on the Pinnacle Studio icon and having it crash on me, and again, and again.....

If you want to try something similar but better than Pinnacle give Ulead Video Studio 8 a try. It has a AC3 plug in.
