Just enable it in ffdshow and it will be used unless there is another decoder with a higher priority, which you can change in ffdshow or set with mpc's over ride settings. In my experience though, ffdshow has a higher priority than DivX, XviD, Nero Digital, etc.

    mpeg4 layer??

Under filters it lists what filters are being used. If ffdshow is not there then it is not being used. Also if you have the tray enabled then it will show up.

You want to know what settings to change the brightness and contrast?

You can change it under overlay, under levels or Picture properties

  5. Ok done!I change the contrast and brightness and achieve the desirable effects but in the TV it still displays the prevous colours?

See i need to change the brightness in order to be brighter in the TV and though in the PC seems bright in the TV stays the same! What can be done?

Also how can the audio configuration be enabled in ffdshow?I've changed some values in ffdshow audio conf but how does media player uses it as the audio decoder?

    Thanx!

Media Player Classic has built in audio decoders for mp3, ac3, aac, etc. if you want to use something else then you need to disable them first.

As for the brightness problem, it is probably an overlay issue. You could try a different ffdshow option to change the brightness. Also the video card driver should have a setting.

You just go into MPC's options and untick them.

Don't know what to say. It works fine here. If I untick something then it stays unticked. I am using a cvs compile, but I don't recall any problems with previous versions either. Perhaps you could try storing settings in an ini file instead of your registry.

  11. And how am i supposedto do that?Should i create the ini or does mpc has an ini?
