I have a few dozens of AC3 files, encoded by TMPGENc XPress. The level is too high on those file, so I'd like to edit them -- lower the audio level. Any software, freeware, shareware or commercial that con do it? I have Sony Vegas 5.0b, but it wouldn't open AC3 files, though it can encode into AC3.

    Thanks.
Indeed, Nero Wave Editor with the AC3 plug in works, only, for my purpose I couldn't use it. The levels it shows are markedly different from professional editors like SoundForge and Vegas. So, I did it the long way -- converted the AC3 files to WAV, manipulated the audio levels and converted back again to AC3.

I think that's what all editors do too, even if they don't tell you...
