  1. I have been playing with WinDV and finally figured out how to get the files all in one instead of multiple files, but the one AVI file has no sound, and I was sure to Type-2. I even used the guide from http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/33/59/ to try and get it correct.
Anyone have any other ideas on this?

When I used the other software that brought the file in as a mpg there was sound. Also when I used Windows Movie Maker like someone suggested it pulled the file in fine, had sound as AVI but when I tried to encode it as a mpg using TMPGenc the sound was terrible distorted.
    Thanks

  2. Well I guess I should have googled it before posting this. I fixed it by pressing play on the minidv cam before capture on the software instead of letting the software start the cam.

Hope this helps someone else too.
