  1. I have a JVC DVD player and it supports both VideoCD and CD-R. I just tryed burning a VCD with Nero 5.5.5.1. When i tryed playing it on the JVC dvd player, it would freeze every couple seconds while playing and messing up the sound as well. When i tryed playing it on my PC with Windows Media Player, it worked fine. I actually burned the CD twice, the first time using CD-i selected in the Nero VideoCD options, and the second time i didn't use it. It didn't work either time. Any ideas? Thanks

It may one of a few things.
First, be absolutely sure your VCD is COMPLIANT. I mean compliant by being:
    1. correct resolution (352x288 PAL or 352x240 NTSC)
    2. correct bitrate (1150kbs VIDEO - 224kbs AUDIO)

When you burn in NERO don't worry so much about the CD-I, that just adds files to your disc for if you are trying to make it compatible with a CD_I player. But make sure you have checked CREATE STANDARD COMPLIANT DISC

If those things still fail, try experimenting with different brand CD-Rs. Some DVD Players' lasers react differently to the many different colors of dye found on CD-Rs. When I first started out, someone suggested to try CDRWs- not only can you try again if it fails, but the surface most resembles that of a DVD.
So good luck, and don't get too frustrated if you're making coasters for a while - it happens.
Good thing CDRs are so cheap these days.
