I have some files I have downloaded I would like to play back on my computer.
At one point I was playing them back fine in Media Player, but now they are so blocky they are unwatchable.
I've looked in the Task Manager "performance" button and all resources look ok. (I first thought it was low memory)
Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe give Media Player more memory allotted to it?
What has worked in the past?
Thansk!

Have you set up the video acceleration in WMP under 'options'? BTW, there a lot of better players out there than WMP.

What player do you recomend?
Will it play windows media files? (I thought that was a proprietary format)
Thanks for the tip!Billy Myers

MediaPlayerClassic is loved by many, including me. It will play all WMV files EXCEPT the ones that have been "locked" with DRM. For those, you need the player from Microsoft.
