  1. Hi

I`m mostly happy so far with demo version 2 if svcd2dvd .

But one thing that bothers me is how badly , if atall it joins
or plays between assets/ Ie: asset 1 & 2 . It hangs & will not
play smoothly between the discs that make up movie

Do I need a seperate join tool to join all files of one movie before
    authoring with svcd2dvd .

If so its not really the ultimate all in one tool I`ve heard it to be ,
tho its done a bang on job if movies are in one file , it fails badly
when one movie is in more that one file tho.

Is this a bug in V2 demo . I`ve never used the other versions
but if they do this better , can I buy those versions somewhere else ?

    Please advise further

    Thank you

  2. PS

I also noticed a fair bit of jerkiness in video
& audio of all movies so far

Maybe this is due to fact I chose full DvD resolution
as opposed to svcd resolution ( as files were only
svcd to begin with , & converting to full DvD wont
really improve on that ?) ? Or am I missing something ?

Can that be the problem ? When/why would I
choose full DvD resolution for what is originally
an svcd anyway . Will it really improve quality ?
& is this causing the jerkiness I speak of

I dont believe problem is in burn process as I see
these errors when I play files on pc as well as my
    home DvD players .

I have Gigabyte dual bios board , 1 gig ddr memory
    athlon 2800 cpu . LG 8x burner

    Thank you

This may happen on certain DVD players but should not be the case on your PC. Are you saying that it is?

What DVD player are you testing on?

This is only relevent if you are using AVI files for assets. If your assets are mpgs this is not relevent. Are you going from PAL to NTSC?

  4. Hi

    Thanks for your reply

Yes it still plays jerky video on my pc , but the transition
between assets is a bit smoother , (but not as smooth as Ie:
winavi rendered files are , but I don`t want to use winavi , it cant authour
& for some reason makes 2 movies too large for a Dvd-r )

The same files when converted in Ie: winavi , play very smoothly
& no instance of missing scenes . But this isnt prog I wish to use
I want to get svcd2dvd working smoothly .

Another odd thing I noticed was in between assets there was maybe
    a minute or so missing once when I used svcd2dvd . I used svcd2dvd
2x`s on exact same project , as I was unhappy with the 1st effort , &
figured I must have made some errors , so I did it again , & on one
instance there is this time missing between assets .

Any DvD player I play these on has same results Ie: Philips , Citizen etc But the Phillips is smoother between assets , though not pleasing 100 %.

No these are not .avis , they are svcd`s , & they are NTSC as well

Some work around thoughts come to mind , if I can`t get svcd2dvd to
work satisfactorily with these files . Ie: can I convert these to dvd files
in another program ( maybe even join them in another , as it seems
it wont join files well , but it may be my error) , & authour them in
svcd2dvd . This seems to be the real strong point of svcd2dvd . the authouring is what attracts me the most , but I don`t believe it will
authour DvD files . I looked the program through & this seems
    not an option .

I really want to get this program to run smoothly , as it`s very
attractive other than these errors . It has a beauty easy to use
    interface .

But so far the demo 2 is not going well . maybe its the trial version ?
Can I still get the previous version somewhere for a try out , or purchase?

Any further advice is very welcome

    thank you
