  1. I have a ps/2 mouse with my HP computer. I was trying to resize my current NTSF partition so I could install slackware linux. I had booted into a win 98 SE bootdisk so I could use this app http://www.ranish.com/part/ to resize my current NTSF partition, but it said that that fs isn't supported so I exited out without saving any changes. When I rebooted into my normal windows my ps/2 mouse was frozen in the middle of the screen! The mouse looks fine, the light is on and stuff it just doesn't work! I got a usb mouse hooked up and that works fine. I tried a system restore but that didn't work. Why is this happening and what can I do to fix it?

Maybe you could try reinstalling mouse driver?

I wonder where I could find that... its an HP mouse that came with my computer... I booted up my old trusty Knoppix Live-cd and the mouse works fine on here... no drivers needed. The serial number for the mouse is 0312059724 if that helps.

If it's XP there's no need to reinstall. Just remove the PS/2 mouse in device manager and let it re-detect (Scan for Hardware Changes). If it's an optical mouse, is the light on?
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

Yes. I'll try deleting from device manager.
