Terapin CD Recorder

Anyone have any experience with this CD Recorder? Some review are good, others not so good. Thanks in advance

Don't get one. Get a PV-231 or PV-233 card instead (also see other posts in the forum about the PV-23X cards). These have the same mpeg capture chip as the Terapin, but they allow you to record to your HD instead of directly to CD-R. You can directly burn the captured mpeg with Nero, or edit your movies first before burning. Ideal for cutting out commercials.
And, they're cheaper...

I visited their website and signed up for the demo VCD to be sent to my home. If I were to judge this machine based on the demo disc I received, I would say this is total bird doo-doo. The disc is not playable on neither my DVD players nor my computer. I assume this is just a defective disc, but it sure doesn't inspire any awe on my part with respect to Terapin.

Thanks guys…I don’t think I want to go thought another period of experimenting and wind up a beautifully boxed set of “Coaster”. I think I’m leaning in the direction of the Card. Thanks again
