I'm using a TRV101. I'm not sure if there are any major differences between the TR vs the TRV models other than the LCD screen. If it has LANC, I imagine it would work.

I am using a TR805E camcorderr which seems very similar to TR101. The first is PAL and second is NTSC but most of other functions/specifications are the same.
On page 44 of TR101 manual, it explains how to display date or time on the screen which is same process as TR805E.
TR101 is listed as compatible on octocron webpage.
We can assume that the data are transmitted via LANC.
By playing the tape in fast forwerd (or fast backwrd), it is possible to capture the date (or time) in about 10 minutes for a full tape.
You get a video file showing white figures on black background. -
I forgot to mention in my post dd 23rd Oct 2023 17:17, another method to superimpose data or time on a video:
This can be done with the display software Bino which initial purpose is 3D display.
With Bino, you superimpose the time (or date) video file to the main video file to display the time (or date) of a scene.
This method is very simple but degrade the quality, so it's only to be used for a quick historical review of a scene.
