Hello,
May not work for you but if you have a xbox and a capture card you can "SOFTMOD" the xbox to play any dvd. Then simply play the dvd and record onto the capture card.
Works perfectly as I just finished a test run. For "SOFTMOD" tips visit www.xbox-scene.com for more details (don't play xbox live while softmodded or you will be banned - simply uninstall it and play your original games on LIVE with no problems)

(for software solutions check the guides to the left <----- look up "PAL TO NTSC")

PAL to NTSC conversion is very complex and, in most cases, simply not worth it. Most DVD players can cope with both so just leave it as it is.

Hi koburg,
you have to encode the PAL video to NTSC video. You can use TMPGEnc encoder or WinAVI converter or Super DVD Ripper. All these software can very easily convert PAL to NTSC or vice versa.
