  1. Just found out that for TDA and AC3 plug-in one must have internet connection for occasional license verification. The computer I do my audio and video on has never seen nor will ever see the internet. I'm cool that I can't use TDA for authoring but now, what will I use to convert my audio to AC3?

On a second note, I posted here earlier this week about encoding the video seperate from the audio (since TMPGEnc 2.5 Plus is not the best audio encoder out there). Someone responded that when I sent the encoded video over to the authoring software, all I had to do was also send the audio over to rejoin the two. My quesion(s): If I send the audio over as .wav file (16 bit, 48,000 htz, cleaned up and maximized in Adobe Audition) will this work or do I physically need to encode (or) compress the file before sending it over?

My second question is, will this work in NeroVisionExpress? Can I just add the encoded video/audio in NVE and it rejoin the two?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

You can still author ac3 without the plug in in tmgpenc dvd author - you just won't get sound in the preview.

If you take say a trailer off a dvd thats in 5.1 and load the vob in tmpgenc dvd author you'll end up with a dvd that has 5.1 in it. You just can't edit it in TDA without the plug in that's all....

I'm going from video through a Canopus 100 into the computer >> capture with NeroVisionExpress (type 2) or WinDV or Adobe Premiere >> edit in Premiere >> encode in Premiere (which automatically only encodes the video, at least in my experience) or in TMPGEnc 2.5 Plus (Elementary Stream) >> author in NeroVisionExpress. In other words, the audio is never converted to AC3... right?
