  1. hi

Imported the dvd into tmpg author, followed steps edit, menu etc when on final screen and press the begin button, error message appears,(the combine bit rate of the clips exceed the upper limits of a standard dvd 9800, audio 448 combined 10248. can not be more than9848. I've continued and nero asks for a dual layer dvd, not single.
    any idea's

Too high of a bitrate on your source. Transcode or re-encode your video to a lower bit rate. Nero must be flipping out because the file is so non-standard.

You can usually ignore that message. Go ahead an author then try it out. Like you, I get this message when I import a DVD video into TMPGEnc DVDAuthor. This has probably happen to me a dozen times or so and each time I've ignored the message and have had NO Problem with the final DVD.

EDIT: I just read the rest of your post ... it sounds like the final size exceeds the 4.3 GB single-layer limit ... is this true? If so, you'll need to shrink it or reencode the video to a smaller size.

If less than 4.3GB (single layer), you could use the TMPGEnc DVDAuthor to burn your DVD if you're having problems with Nero.

Whichever Method I used, I'd try a DVDRW first to confirm that everything worked ... might save you a coaster.

I'm confused here. Are you trying to burn with Nero or TMPGEnc DVDAuthor? Also, is the VIDEO_TS folder bigger than 4.3GB?

as I posted, out putting file with tmpg author to a folder ready for burning, when created menu etc on the last screen, button marked output, you can out put the file to a selected folder.the file is 3.49 when output to folder the error message, if ignored in tmpg and burned with nero the dvd will not play, .
    many thanks

If I understand you correctly, you're burning the VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folders with Nero. Once burned, the DVD does not play. While this may be a lot shot, and I'd use a DVDRW so I wouldn't risk making a coaster, I'd suggest you try burning the DVDRW with the writing Tool in TMPGEnc DVDAuthor and see what happens.
