No, it wasn't. It was actually the third post. Does that invalidate having a civilized discussion on actual test results of DL media?Originally Posted by stiltman

Preserves layer break perfectly and makes a highly compatible DVD+R DL. I'm shamelessly promoting my thread again so read here to learn to make DVD+R DL discs with great results:

If you have something constructive to say, please post in that thread, so we can all pile up our unbiased DL experiences.
Thank you very much.
P.S.: Bazooka, I have a university degree myself. But the most important thing is that I also learn from the life experiences. College degree is never nearly enough.

Hey guys no need to jump off the deep end here. I posted my original question mainly as I hadn't seen many posts (sorry if they are around and I missed them) on dual-layer.
I know DL is a new area in DVD burners. But as someone who has been building and upgrading computers for 13 years now and has tried new and unproven technologies over that period, I understand it's not 100% guaranteed to work. And I don't mind spending a little money on media to try it out. God knows I've spent a lot more on software over the years that is now sitting in a closet.
Thanks to those who offered suggestions and thanks to those who offered warnings.

His question was the best way to copy to DL discs. He didn't ask why he shouldn't use them because of cost or people that haven't even used them claiming that DL media is worthless.
From what I understand, the best way to copy is using DVD Decrypter and not making any changes at all to the structure of the original DVD, as rr6966 suggested.

Also, it burned it at true 6x speed!!! Ritek DL though is still not that good and wasn't very compatible with some of my home DVD players, as I expected.
