Hi,
I hope someone can answer my questions. I am basically editing our holiday footage and trying to create a DVD. This is my first Video project but so far it's going well. I've edited my .AVI files in Vegas and rendered .MPEG2 files for my DVD. I've also created .PSD background images for the DVD Menu.
My problems / questions are with both DVD Lab Pro & Sony Architect 2.
Frame Links
Are frame links available in Architect 2? I don't like the whole image being highlighted when it's selected. In DVD Lab Pro i'm able to put a ring around the image and this is the only part which is highlighted in the menu, which is what I want.
Audio Problems
I created a MPEG2 file consisting of the Video from my .AVI file and the Audio from an .MP3 file. When I add this MPEG2 file in Architect it plays smoothly and sounds like it should. However, when I import the file in DVD Lab Pro it says that the Audio need transcoding or something to do with 44Mhz or 48Mhz I think. I allow it to run the default settings but when the file is burnt to the DVD is looks ok, but the sound is awful.
Any ideas why my sound isn't working properly in DVD Lab Pro?
Motion Menu
I've found how to do this in DVD Lab Pro by using this forum. Basically I create an .MPEG2 file containing the background and small video then set this to my background in DVD Lab Pro. It works well but a little time consuming.
In Architect I found it was possible to have my static background then add a small motion button to the menu. All I did next was make it not possible for the user to select this button in the menu, so the video just plays but is never highlighted. I did this by changing which button was select when the user moves off a certain button. So there was no need for me to create an extra .MPEG2 file for the menu.
So basically, if I can use Frame highlights in Architect I'll probably use this to make the DVD. Otherwise, can someone please help as to why my audio isn't working correctly in DVD Lab Pro.
Please let me know if any of this doesn't make sense.
Thanks for reading,
Rich.

ok, just so i'm clear do I still render the video as MPEG2 and then the audio as AC3? I'm at work at the moment so can't check the menus.
Cheers.
BTW - Thanks for the replies. -
Yes. AC3 audio is dvd standard, although most players will also accept mp2 and pcm .wav
Check your player against the list here.Cheers, Jim
