I have been using a Miro DC 30 but I'm considering changing to the Dazzle DVC II when I buy a new computer.
In the capture cards comments section, I saw several comments that users weren't using the bundled editing software with the DVC II. Is anyone successfully using Adobe Premiere with this card? If so, which version? Any problems or concerns?
Also, does the DVC II immediately output back to tape without rendering (except for effects, etc.)? In other words, will I be able to see the clips on the TV monitor right away after capturing? The DC 30 has "instant video" -- is this similar? I have a serious love/hate relationship with the DC 30 card, but the idea of starting over with something completely new is still scary!
Thanks very much,
Lynn

Quick answers:
You MUST use the Dazzle software to capture.
Premiere 6 only imports Mpeg1 (unless you get an Mpeg 2 plug in).
The Dazzle software rerenders the WHOLE file after editing, but with the proper settings, this can be quick (minutes). -
Actually, there's alternative software (TWNH) for the dazzle, but you still have to use a specific program, not a generic capture program.
The Dazzle software doesn't re-render the file - it's only repackaging it (unless you change the settings when you "produce" - then it will re-render, and that doesn't take "minutes" when that happens!).
