  1. Hey people... have a quick question

I just got an NVida Geforce 4 Ti 4600 with VIVO (video in-video out) and i tried to capture a tv show. I first used InterVideo's WinDVR 3 to capture. The video in this was good, but no matter what volumes i chose the audio came out distored when i played back the .mpg file. This is kind of weird, because when i plug the audio cord into my Line In it plays through the speakers and is crystal clear, but once i record and play back it's terrible.

Next i thought i'd try Windows Movie Maker's capture. This turned out to have a horrible green and purple picture... i reset the Hue to default but still the picture was very green and purple still. However, the audio in this was great.

The main components for this are my Asus A7N8X-X mobo, with NForce 2 A97 Audio onboard (i think anyway... the computer is downstairs).

Anyway, does anyone have an idea on how to get either program working better? I'm open to try other programs too if there are better ones.

Your OS is Win2k/xp? Try the best capture utility--VirtualVCR. VirtualDub-MPEG is worth a try also.

Have you tried adjusting levels with the Main property sheet of the Nvidia nForce Control Panel?

The nForce onboard audio is not as good as a Sound Blaster 5.1. If audio is important then get at least this level of hardware.

You sure you're going through Line-In and NOT Mic-In ? Mic In can be 20db louder.
