No. Honest people are pretty scarce in jails. That's why they have guards as well.

I was using a rough estimate for worldwide distribution. could have been over a period of 5 years.

So we make it more towards 250 million copies at $14.95 per copy. The point is there's no reason for the cost of the discs to be so high. A manufacturer can make the product faster, better & cheaper than a person at home. A person at home might put all costs together and come up with paying roughly $5. If a movie came out for $6, that would put an extremely strong crunch on the pirate. It's virtually near the same cost to buy it at the store. Why is it I can walk into Wal-Mart and find copyrighted B-movies for $0.88? There are quite a few I got that I remember and were really good ones. Record Labels have a bit of greed and they will take peoples money any which way they can. Let's say for the sake of argument that everyone boycotts the recording industry. They still get money from the sale of recordable media, even if it's for data purposes. It's extremely small, but they still get a portion of profit they may really have no link or tie to somewhere in the future. Why are you paying for cable when there are commercials that make up the cost? The 80 channel ability was always there. They just added the filters to add more cost. You have commercials on many sattelite channels. How come I can't just buy my own equipment and watch commercial channels without paying the monthly fee? Where there's money to be made, the companies will do something to put it in their pocket.

I agree with the purpose of copyright, but I think too many companies are abusing it to their advantage. I don't advocate piracy, but I also think that the companies are also commiting legal crimes, as oxymoronic as it sounds.
