  1. I successfully burned my first dvd, however it wasn't that easy and I came across a couple of problems.

The program opens up fine, without the dvd, but when I open the dvd through dvd shrink, my computer locks up and I would have to restart.

After burning the first dvd, my player is really acting up. I tried to open the dvd just to watch the movie, but when I try open it, again my computer freezes and locks up. Everything I do to open the dvd, causes my computer to lock up. I have tried several times with different programs to open the movie, but it just doesn't work.

Another issue is when I watch the actual movie. When i first start the movie there are a ocuple of different frames that come up before the main menu of the movie. These frames consist of "FBI Warning, etc" The movie won't play the frames, but instead stop at each one. I would have to skip the frames. Is there anyway I can get rid of it or just play through it? Thanks!!

My computer works fine for everything, except this.

    I am using TDK dvd+r and I have a DVD+/-RW 16x|NEC ND-3520A BK W/O SW

    I have currently

    2.6 p4 Asus

    512 ddr ram

    200 gig hd

    geforce graphics card

Thank You very much for any help!!

It could be an overheating issue.

Look for newer chipset drivers. Put thermal compound on the processor, install more fans and get a better cpu fan.

  5. Could it be any other problems besides that. I have around 5 fans in the entire computer.

Could it just be a bad dvd player? Should I exhange it?

    Please help!!

  6. Doubt it's overheating, most decent boards have a temp alarm, your bios would indicate that, could be software conflicts, remove any previous burning software, try changing the hardware accelerator to a different spot, I use the 2nd or 4th notch in ME for problems. Scary move, update your bios, with MSI boards it's easy. I am no expert and those are my only suggestions. Then return the burner as defective.

I had this happen for about four years.

I tried everything I could think of.

Then four years later, I updated the bios and it no longer freezes.

  9. BIOS updates have gotten easier over the years. You need to know what motherboard you have.
