Ok I just got myself a new dvd burner with some christmass cash and I have been trying to burn a dvd for a while now with out any luck, either it dosen't work or the picture is to big for my tv and the frames are messed. My computer is filled with dvd authoring programs and such that I have used trying the tutorials on this site. So being overwellmed with all of these programs to the point that I don't even remember what program does what I decided to delete all of them, start fresh and ask for help.
Here is the info. that I got from G-spot.

-Direct Show Render-
Video Src Type:4cc: 3IV2 Audio Src:MPEGLAYER3 (MP3) (0x0055)
Video PathS) --> AVI Splitter --> 3ivx D4 Video Decoder --> (R)
Audio PathS) --> AVI Splitter --> 3ivx D4 Video Decoder --> (R)
I would like to burn the movie into a dvd on a dvd+r so that it will work on all american type DVD players.
If you guys could point me to the right tutorial for the type of information I have from my movie it would be great.
Thanks.

For your first project, use VSO DivXtoDVD . Don't worry about the name, it will convert various file types to DVD compliant .VOB, IFO, and BUP files.
That app rocks, especially if you're a newbie. -
VSO DivXtoDVD just keeps freezing on my computer when i try it.
edit.
it says
Exception during conversion. Output may not be availible
and then
unsupported decoder (id=0) for input stream #0.0 -
Hmm. That sucks... Never had a problem with it.
A few ideas - Do you have 3vix installed ?
It is located at http://www.3ivx.com/download/windows.html
If you do have 3vix installed, also install FFDSHOW , the "universal" decoder.
Also, see if you can open and run through the file with VirtualDubMod. That should tell you if the file is OK and you have the proper codec to open it.
Finally, try your encode again with DivxtoDVD
This kind of stuff is pretty common, and sometimes it takes trial and error before you hit the right combination for success. Don't give up.
Post your results up here again. -
since ur doing all this crpa anyway, if ur familiar w/ authoring apps and don't mind a 3 step process (which will achieve higher quality) you may as well do the tried and true
AVISynth -> CCE / TMPGEnc -> Authoring App for video
AVISynth -> BeSweet/AC3Machine/TMPGEnc (with tooLame plugin) -> Authoring App for audio
BeSweet AC3 files have a nasty habit of coming out unsable a lot of the time so u may want to get the ffmpeg codec instead for this.
you can only use TMPGEnc MP2 audio output if you are fine w/ non-compliant NTSC DVD or live in PAL land. -
Wow that's realy weird, it said I have 3vix installed but i uninstalled it and tried to install the link I got from this thread and it says
Output folder: C:\WINDOWS\system32
Can't write: C:\WINDOWS\system32\3ivx.dll
edit:
I think I know why, I tried to open the config and it said my evaluation period of 30 days is over. Do you guys know if I can get a shareware one.
