  1. In windows media player I get the following message:
Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a problem occurred while configuring copyright protection.

    In PowerDVD I get:
TheTV Out port of your display card is not working properly.
This copy protected disc can not be played when the TV out function is enabled.

( I don't even have a TV out port on my card ).

I've removed and reinstalled both applications but get the same message.

I suspect this started after I installed a sound card driver, removing it didn't help either....

Any advice, apart from rebuild!, gratefully received.

    Cheers
    Russ

  3. Make sure you have the most current drivers for your GeForce2 MX 100/200 video card:

    Version: 71.84

well it might not be a good solution, but an easy solution would be to rip the dvd to an iso file with dvd decrypter & then mount the iso with daemon tools.. copy-protection free dvd.

sound like a codec problem to me. windows media player uses a third partie codec, hence PowerDVD. If PowerDVD fails to play it due to the codec, then wmp will also refuse to play it. Try an alternative palyer, like WinDVD.
