okay, to get around some of the rules on this forum (nudity, banned pics, etc).

I still don't get what the big deal is about IPs being known - many forums display 'em for all who use the site to see.
It's totally up to the board's administrator if IPs are seen or not.

If you post to Usenet, all can see your IP...same for any online chat areas, IRC, email, etc.


IPs are not private info. Anyone having trouble with that shouldn't be using the 'net at all if they do have a problem with it.

I also would question why anyone would have a problem with it - it makes you look like you have a lot to hide if you do


Only people who should be concerned about IPs are P2P users...moreso, P2P users doing illegal things.


And if you do want your IP to be a secret...then use a Proxy or don't post to public forums! Sheesh
