I'm using DV Sutbtitles to turn the datecode data on my raw video into a data/time subtitle on the final video. DV Subtitles generates the bitmaps and the accompanying script file. When I import the script into Encore, for some reason Encore doesn't follow the script file instructions exactly. The script file provides the start and stop times for each time/date bitmap that DV Subtitles generates, but Encore will alter those times slightly by fractions of a second. But over two hours of video, those fractions of a second turn into about 5 seconds. So if I'm watching video I shot yesterday, and then the video transitions to footage I shot today, yesterday's date and time will still be displayed for about 5 seconds and then change to today. Its really frustrating. The script file is clearly correct, but I look at the start and stop times Encore assigns, and they're off ever so slightly. What the frig kind of bug is that???!!!! I have to go into about 300 subtitle bitmaps for one 2 hr DVD and change the start and stop times to match the script file. Anyone experiencing the same problem?
