I'm using IE 6.0.2800. Today I have had this wierd problem. I can get on some sites but not others. It's totally driving me nuts. I can get on sites like excite, hotmail, this one, and others. But I can't get on Ask.com, my locla weather station, dogpile, and I am even unable to get on my routers webpage....and many others. what could be causing this insane problem?

Doesn't sound like it's on your side. More than likely, there's a bad router on the internet on your path to Ask.Com. You can rule out DNS server problems by entering http://65.214.39.7

I just did a Tracert to ASK.COM and discovered a bad router along the path. I'm sure they'll fix it soon.

    You can also download http://winmtr.sourceforge.net/winmtr_bin.zip

That will show you the bad router along your path.

AHA ! Sounds like the DNS server is having problems resolving.

In THAT case, under your network settings, add the following address to your list of DNS servers (it's in TCP/IP config)

    4.2.2.2

That's a very fast DNS server out there. It should help.
