  1. I can't seem to find any comprehensive explanation on how to convert an svcd file(mpeg2) to a divx avi file. I've tried to use tmpgenc, it can't open the file. I tried installing the codec/mpeg2 plugin, finally I was able to open the file. However, I still couldn't output the file as an mpeg1 file. I figured after converting it to mpeg1, I could make it a divx. I wasn't able to open the mpeg2 file in VirtualDub...any ideas?????

  2. Open up your mpeg2 file with DVD2AVI and treat it EXACTLY like a DVD-rip. Frameserve via d2v and wav files to TMPGenc and make it mpg1.

  3. flasKMPEG works for me. I open the mpg2 file, set the output to OpenDML AVI (Select output button) and Configure Ouput Module from the Select output button to set the codecs for the avi file (Doulbe click on DivX to configure it).

Umm, that won't make him a divX.

Best quality, get a copy of DVD2AVI, Nandub, GuardianKnot, and virtualdub (nandub is a modified virtualdub, thus you just install nandub to the same directory). Go to Doom9.org, read his GuardianKnot guide, simmer for 6-12 hours and serve.

The new Gknot takes care of audio too, so your divX rips will look and sound absolutely stunning.

To Kairk, seriously, try this method, Flask is getting very old now and the quality compared to this method (SBC) is very dissapointing, it's not much more complicated and the results are awesome.
