  1. I have a xvid/divx player and I have burned the xvid clip to disc selecting DVD Nero Data using a dvd-rw compatible disc and the response I get is that the disc is not recognised or disc is unreadable and after several re-attempts the dvd-rw becomes corrupt. What could I be doing wrong? This is not the first disc that has become corrupt. If anyone has an inkling please get back to me. Thank you.

    Tried different media?
Are you burning as ISO? USD? ISO/UDF?
Does the xvid work if you burn on cdr?

  3. I am burning as ISO. I finally got it to work by finalizing the disc. Stupid me I know, but it will only play on one of my dvd players with which it is compatible. I need to change the codec for it to play on my other one. Is there a guide somewhere for different resolutions/frames etc for different codecs as I believe they have to change to match the new codec isn't that so?

You shouldn't need to change anything. Just convert to the new format/codec.
