  1. Hi folks

Quick, possibly stupid question... I have a PC running Windows XP, PCI firewire card, hooked up to a Canopus ADVC-100, which is in turn hooked up to my VCR/TV.

Premiere 6.5 continually craps on me and "export to tape" only works maybe 1 out of 5 times. (is that just me, or does everyone have this sort of issue?) I am now trying Pinnacle Studio 9.0 (I know, I know) and have managed to get the "Make Tape" function to output perfectly good video and audio to my TV/VCR HOWEVER it takes forever and a year for the program to render the video.

    My question is...
Is there a simpler way to output video over a firewire connection, through the Canopus ADVC-100, and into my VCR? Must the video be rendered in a video software suite first? Unless I'm missing something it seems like it would be relatively simple for a piece of software to do something to the effect of using the firewire port (with attached Canopus ADVC-100) like a set of composite outputs. Am I nuts?

The video needs to be DV-AVI.
