When choosing movie only in this version I have the option to select main movie files or select main movie files + IFOs. So which one do I want. I just the main movie like in previous versions of decrypter. What is the differnece with the IFOs?

The IFO file is a navigation file that lets you navigate the dvd.

In file mode, you select all the files.

Huh....? I just want movie only so I don't want to select all the files as you said. So should choose the one with Ifo files? What do you mean by navigate the dvd? Man decrypter changes one thing on me and I feel like a newb all over again....lol

If you want the main movie, select the largest file.

The ifo files are required to go from chapter to chapter and to navigate through the menus.

you've used dvddecrypter before right? If you choose main movie only it selects the movie files for you.

So if i don't choose main movie & IFOs then I won't be able to skip ahead in chapters?

Yes, I use it all the time, but I do not just select the main movie.

There is an IFO mode, ISO mode and File mode.

I always use file mode and rip all the files.

ok, thats the problem I just do a movie back up......I do file mode then under edit you can choose main movie only or select main movie files + IFOs. I was just curious what the difference was with having the IFOs...

I would imagine it would be to skip chapters.

  9. just choose "movie only".then run it through either dvd2one,or shrink.
either way its gonna adjust and/or create new ifos.
on dvd2one,then pick movie only, the chapters you want(movie, all of them really),then the soundtrack you want, and start.
shrinks the same really, picking what you want etc, only way for doing this is that sometimes on the movie only part, theres more than one title,eg:a menu thats not there any more,or simple vids, like THX,etc.-because all you have ripped is the movie and soundtrack files.

*the movie files+ifos, mode,is a bit of a waste,as ive played a few like that and they stutter at parts that maybe contain stuff like "white rabbit mode on the matric"stuff thats linked to the movie, etc.and the movie would be "broken" if you left it like that.&*

When using DVD Decrypter select a single ISO file, that should solve your problems. You can only select a single ISO file if the HDD is formatted NTFS or the backup you are doing is less than 4 gig. If your HDD happens to be formatted Fat32 then choose multiable ISO files of 1 gig.
