    Well if they end in .mov, they're quicktime. If they end in .mpg, they're mpeg...

    If you are worrying about play back on your PC Gordian Knot codec pack will let you play anything don't need to worry about video type. But if you need to know use a tool.


    OK I was wrong stay away unless ypu know you have many codec that you need. Or just stay away from codec packs. (but really I have had no problems, but thats just me. not a big enough sample to judge effectiveness of codec packs.)

    Second G-Spot and stay away from codec packs, only install codecs as you need them. The only good thing those packs are for is creating conflicts.
