Just bought Connect 3D Radeon 9250/128Mb/DVI/TV-Out. Common PC-graphics card (2x/4x/8x AGP) and flashed with Mac-rom. Card cost me 62.5€ and half an hour for flashing and reading instructions (and obtaning rom). Saved me about 150 dead presidents, if compared to Radeon Mac-version. My good old Sawtooth (G4@450) flies with this card and newest X-Plane loves it, too Good for FCP too, since video can be previewed at TV.

C3D works very well with Mac-rom, is Quartz Extreme accelerated and even Tv-Out works perfectly and has superb quality. More about subject at Cubeowner:

There are other PC cards that can be flashed, but C3D is steadily available and cheap. No reason to use SE-versions (crippled memory bus). Part number for working Connect card is C3D 6058.

Also flashed my Nec ND-2500A with hacked firmware, which claims to make it DL capable with certain bitsetting capabilities. Haven't had any problems, but DL is still not tried (they cost about 10€, too much currently). Used Binflash for flashing, so no need for PC:.

Firmware (2xx0v3-2.rar) can be found at:

as well as many other Nec firmware.
