I would also like some info on this drive.

I use CloneCD 5.2.6.1... and when I try to burn to CD (Brand: Intenso) I get writing failed!

Is it possible to upgrade firmware on my Matshita UJ-831D ?
(I´ve read that its really a Panasonic drive)

I don't own that drive, but I can tell you it is just a slim line (Laptop) DVD Recorder made by Panasonic.

    Try this for some help.

If I had to use a laptop, I'd opt for an external drive, or network it to my desktop, and burn from there.

You could try one of these

I found at that CloneCD does not work with my DVD/CD-writer.

    Workaround:
I used UltraISO to transfer all images from CloneCD format -> BIN/Cue format.

Then I burned the images with Nero.
