  1. Another 'deal', starting in tomorrow's Best Buy ad, they'll have Fuji 25 packs of +R and -R media for $9.99. Same price as what they've been running off and on for awhile now, but in the 25 packs if you don't need alot.

This is great! i used to buy these 50pack for $20 at microcenter. I bought 6 spindles and theyre all gone. After christmas they went up to $40/50.

I have a friend at my pt job that also is a manager at Sam's club so ill have him pick some up for me. Thanks for this info. Verbatims seems to be the one i have most luck with.

  3. As I posted, you can also get the same discs on Amazon.com right now for $30 AR, free shipping, since you wanted media 'cheap'.

im looking at this, but i cant seem to find what is the limit on these. Will only 1 rebate be valid if say i bought like 4-5 of these? how do i find out?

  5. If you click on the rebate image linked there, the rebate says 'limit two rebates/per name/per address'.

So you could always order two under your name, and two under another name/address.

i see that they have + and - R for the same deal. Do you think its possible to do two +r and two -r?

  7. Technically, yes, as they are different rebate promotion numbers and different product SKUs. The +R discs are not currently in stock, but knowing Amazon they'll be back in stock within the next few days and you won't have problems getting them in time. Of course I could be wrong about everything I just said But you'd probably be fine.

P.S. - I'm glad I already have too many discs, otherwise I'd be ordering a bunch of these too. I got 400 8x Fuji TY discs for $80 about 2 months ago at Best Buy, plus I have all sorts of other stuff, I'm probably set for life at this point

i have some of those fuji PRODISC you mention. Did you try calling other best buys in your area.

I am in Seatle so there aren't BEst Bests actually in the city, but there are three that are almost equally far away.

I had to call around to find the Made in Japan discs.

At one Best Buy they had no idea that there even was a difference between made in Japan and made in Taiwan discs. And at they other store the guy knew exactly what I wanted, but they were out so he gave me a raincheck over the phone. He had just came back to work after being on vacation. When I told him about the sale he sounded like he wanted to buy a few spindles too.

The Fuji prodisc are ok though but I have and NEC and the stock firmware lets me burn TY's at 12x which means my burn times come down to under 7 minutes for full disc burns.
    snappy phrase

    I don't know what you're talking about.

Does anyone know of walk-in major stores, where someone can pick off the shelf TY's, in New York, New Jersey, or Florida ?

can you show me where do i see the limit on rebates. you said that limit is 2. but im clicking on rebate link and its not saying anything about it. Can you give me a link to the page that says 2 rebates/per name/ per person.

I emailed amazon and they replied if i bought 5, i could get 5 rebates. but its possible they said that so i would buy them and get screwed of other rebates. I want to see where it says 2, can you help me out?

  12. Who cares what Amazon says, they aren't processing the rebate. What it says on the rebate is what goes, not what Amazon tells you. It says right on the rebate limit 2 per person, just above where you fill in your name, address, etc. (on the black bar).

I'm currently using the "dupsonic" brand 8x -R's from Newegg ($17.99 for 50). The media ID is TYGO2 and they burn at 12x on my NEC 3500 (also work well on my LiteOn 811s, but it is only 4x). No coasters so far and I'm on my 2nd 50 pack spindle.

I've also had good luck with the -R 1X-8X (G05 Silver Matte) Bulk by Ritek from Shop4tech ($40 for 100 free shipping).

Those dupesonic are fakes. They work in a the NEC 3500 series pretty good, but try then in a BTC then try some real TY's there is a big difference.

The dupesonic fake TY's aren't as bad as LONGTEN, but definately not real TY's.

I none of the dupesonics have been been coasters in my NEC 3520, but the dye is really really ugly.

I haven't done any scan of them but the dye is ooooogly.

The dye on real TY's (Fuji 8x -R) is smooth and very pretty. I want to eat them they look so good.
