Hi, Im using Virtual Dub to capture video on Windows Me with lifeview flyvideo capture card and whenever i cap a vid, no matter wot the audio compression is the audio turns out to be fast and unclear, ive uploaded a 932 KB example vid: http://www.geocities.com/sgsandgeri/kylie_kids_live.mpg
(right clik - Save target as)
Download it to see wot i mean.
I used the same capping equipment before i formatted, i had Windows 98. Nothing was wrong there.
Plz help!

Good looking video clip but that audio sucks. Well I 'm not sure what to tell you exactly but I'm gonna give you some suggestions of what I think it could be or what it sounds like.
1.) Audio Input volume is too high (- most likely)
to tone it down in vdub while capturing just go to audio/volume meter and move the slider to the left.
to tone it down in the audio properties just right-click on the little speaker icon on the taskbar and choose open volume controls and adjust the coresponding input.
If your audio source is on the same card as your video source then you might need to change the audio line source by coming out of your tv instead of your vcr (if your tv has audio output) or running from your vcr to a reciever then to a capture card (so you can tone down the volume from the source.
When capturing audio in vdub check the audio levels and make sure that they're not too high by going into audio/volume meter and making sure that the audio levels don't touch the edges. check out this link: http://www.geocities.com/lukesvideo/index.html
2.) Bad Audio Cables/connection
If the cables are old or frayed or have bad connections or the parts where connections are going to be made are dirty or the volume knob on your reciever is dirty inside or has built up corrosion. That could be it. (-less likely)
If you don't seem to find a solution then try to clean it up with a filter using vdub or TMPGEnc or a good audio editing program. ( but don't expect good results)
Honestly it sounds like too much amplification in the audio and that's your best bet. But hey I could be wrong. Hope this helps! -
its not the line-in audio, trust me.
when i play an mp3 in winamp and i open sound recorder and record, i get the same results.
it happens when any audio is recorded on my computer.
dunno why.
