I got an AVI that is too big 4.4GB to put on a DVD after Toast 6 gets a hold of it.

Question how do i make it just a little smaller to fit on the DVD?

It is 1.52GB right now but when Toast 6 goes to encode it it says "file too big 4.4GB".

Ok i figured out how to do it (toast 6 is making a disc image then i will mount it and then use DVD2oneX to make it smaller) but now how do i join two parts of a AVI to make 1 AVI?

    Example (1of2)avi and (2of2)avi?

My friend, you need to take a time out
and do some SERIOUS investment in your
    setup.

    Learn these three basic rules:

    1. Quicktime Rules Everything On A Mac.
    (QREAM)
Toast relies on your AVIs to be in spec with Quicktime,
it uses Quicktime to re-encode your video to fit
to a DVD. That being said:

    2. Quicktime Pro Makes It All Easier.
    (QMIAE)
With Quicktime Pro, you could have easily:
    Opened your two AVIs
Joined them togther to make one long movie
Saved them down to a HQ file that took up less MBs
Had them compliant both in space and file type so
    Toast would be done already.

    3. The majority of stuff you need to do can be done
with Quicktime Pro ( and a few codecs).
No head scratching, or long winded threads necessary.

    Hop over to http://www.apple.com/quicktime and
    buy Quicktime Pro already.

  5. What TerryJ said AND that a "real" DVD (one that plays in a DVD player) is MPEG-2 only. You cannot make anything "smaller" by changing how it is encoded. You can only change how it is encoded to MPEG-2 (bit rate)
