BTW, I think the bomb was spot on:

    http://www.unrv.com/culture/julian-calendar.php
Pope Gregor XIII devised a new calendar, simply adjusting the old. The removal of three leap years each four centuries, basically, every year divisable by 100, but not 400, was removed from the calendar going forward.

The difference in future years was then taken care of, but Gregor also had to remove 10 days from the month of October, 1582 to bring things back in line.
    If in doubt, Google it.

That information isn't quite accurate. They went from the 4th to the 15th. That's 11 days. However, midnight of the 4th was set as 1am the 15th. So it's 11 days and 1 hour making it 265 hours. It's often known as "The Last Hour".

As the years passed other countries adopted the calendar and some lost nearly 15 days into the 20th century.

11 days? Am I missing something. Going from the 4th to the 15th is only 10 days. Or are you saying that going from the 4th to the 5th is missing a day?
