I have been trying to edit a MPG I captured with my Terapin. I use VCDGear to convert the .DAT file, and then I try to edit the MPG. The unedited MPG plays just fine, but when I try to cut it with TMPGEnc, I am able to select my cuts, but when I do the 'RUN' the final file never gets generated beyond the same point in the original mpg ever. I can't see anything wrong.
If I can scan the file and find a corrupt bit, and fix it, that's what I'd like. But I'm not sure what tool to use.

I'd appreciate any advice, or assistance.

what i do is take the .dat file by clicking browse (all files) and you have the dat file for audio and video..
specify the output file, (mpg) and start......
    converts the dat to mpg
then you can cut and edit your mpeg

have you tried capturing black and white tv programs from vhs???
i am having a bad time with that (extremely poor quality)
