I have a DVD I authored a while ago with 2 video streams taken from VHS tapes, with a nice menu system and all.

But at the time I did it, I was lazy, and didn't insert chapters, so each one hour long video has only one chapter.

I'd like to change this. Can it be done without re-authoring the whole DVD and keeping the menu structure?

I had a Look at IFOEdit and the program ADDChapter, but got confused, as they only seem to add chapters at the end of the video.

I am happy to manually enter timecodes/frame numbers for where I would like to add the additional chapters.

Anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks

ropdoh, I think the easiest way it to "reauthor" but not reencode. You can do that easily with TMPGenc DVD Author. You'll spend far less time this way rather than trying to add chapters by hand (and then if you want a menu for them, how will you do that?!).
In any case, I think it's not easy at all to do without re-processing the whole VOB files (because chapters are actually defined both in the VOB and in the IFO files, so you can't get away with simply changing the IFO file, at least I don't think).
Reauthoring in TMPGenc DVD Author won't take long at all (again, you can import the VOB files as is...)

MenuShrink a free tool to shrink menus into stills with or without audio!
DVDSubEdit: a free tool to modify your subtitles directly inside the vob.
