    hey all,
I have a question, does anyone know a way to change a commerial dvd menu if I rip it from a dvd?

For example, I have a anime series that is three discs long but the third disc is in bad shape, a while back I ripped the episodes from that disc on to one of my hard drives, and I was wondering if it possible to go into the ripped menu (that I took from one of the other discs) and change the titles of the episodes and the episode numbers?

    thanks for any help.

  2. I think it's not possible...Just because those menu are now in a form of MOVIEs also...It would be like extracting a section of the DVD and trying to change the character's appearance....

It all came down to changing the appearance of the menu which is not possible. SOrry to be the one to inform you of this. BUT no sweat, just go download the MOVIE cover and create your own menu...

YOu can always try to snap a screenshot of the other menu and use a PHOTOediting software like PHOTOshop to make changes to it. Then you can use it as a background when creating a new menu using software like DVDlab....

Sure you can do it. Check out the early stages of my guide for ripping DVDs menu's and reauthoring them to SVCD.

Use those same techniques. If the menu's are still images just edit them in any photo editing program. It should be a trivial thing to clone out things like titles and numbers, and insert your own. If the menu's are motion pictures then it takes some more work and the results may vary. But I cover the steps under the guide as well.

Really, the only thing that is different is the resolution. Keep them DVD compliant rather than SVCD compliant. Then just import all of your assets into dvd lab pro and author.
