  1. Hi i was wondering if there's a way to correct the audio of a video file that has a lot of background noise.

    Also how can you increse the volume on a vcd?I've tried the filters from tmpgenc but it returns me an error!At last what's the normalize option for audio?Thanx!

    You can try using a dedicated audio editor, such as soundforge or goldwave. Play around with the equaliser and other filters to see what happens.

    As for the VCD, demux the audio and increase the volume in the audio editor, then add it back to the video and burn. Should fix the problem.

    Normalizing should try to balance very load and very soft parts of the audio by reducing the dynamic range of the audio track.

  3. I i'm not keen in using audio editing software,so would you plz describe more thorough how to adjust the filters?

    Also what's a good value to increase the volume to?

    If you have Nero, it comes with a wave editor. You will have to demux (seperate) the audio and video. Load the wav file in Nero (or Audacity) and select the noise removal filter. These really only work for things like static or consistant background noise. Not something like street noise or someone talking in the background. You also need a small section of the audio where you can only here the noise so that the filter can anaylse it.

  5. How do i demux the audio to wav?I use tmpgenc to demux it in .mp2. Also how can i find the place where only noise can be heard?

    Audacity will read mp2. I am not sure about Nero. You could open the file in Vdubmod and save the wav. To find the background noise, you will will have to find a section of the file when there is nothing else going on. Usually at the end or beginning. It might only take a second or two of sound.
