  1. Hi, can someone comment on the following. I've backed up 2 different movies using 2 different methods and the one click method seems to be a perfect 121 backup while you can see a slight difference in quality to the original using the other method.
I used dvdxcopyexpress on one film and decrypter and shrink on the other. Would one click software compress it different to shrink or would they be completely the same. The movie I used copyexpress on seemed to be perfect while decrypter and shrink wasn't that good. The length of both films were roughly the same (just over 2 hours).

  3. If you are doing a comparison test, you can not compare different movies. One movie may look bad to begin with. Always compare the same movie to do comparison tests. There is no way to say one is better than the other unless it is done to the same movie.

  4. The answer i'm really looking for is, is 1clickbackup software any better apart from being quicker and less complicated. I'm very happy with decrypter and shrink but would prefer to pay if something is a lot better.
    Cheers.

    Then why are you asking?

Why pay for something when there are free programs that do the same thing if not a better job?

  6. The reason i'm asking is, as the old saying goes you only get what you pay for. I Thought that maybe because your paying for software it would produce better backups in some way or another. I'm not that educated when it comes to computers so i'm trying to gain some knowledge.
    Cheers.

Ive owned a few paid for programs and dvd shrink and decryptor do the same job as the others. Theres not a huge, world of diff. between what they all do anyway, but I was using dvdxcopy and now I just use dvd shrink and decryptor, one reason, aside from it doing the same burn job, is that they dont put that silly copyright warning at the start of the movie like dvdxcopy does. Man it stays there for a lifetime!!

Different copy programs use different transcoding engines so yes, there may be a difference in quality among transcoders. As suggested earlier you shouldn't compare two different movies and two different transcoders. Use one movie to compare dvdxcopyexpress and dvd shrink.

Check the tools section for comparisons of different transcoders and how users rate them.

    Good luck.

@gav223, you don't get what you pay for in the world of software

DVDShrink will be good enough for most people but for some it's just not the one even though it's free. It's nice to have a choice as some programs produce different results depending on the DVD and the settings you use. The morale of the post is take into account people's opinions but use what's best for you and nobody else 8)

@mattyboy, someone in the forum wrote a guide (if not a program) to get rid of the daft 321 warning

is that solution here on this forum? or in the search? My brother and I took out a file that removed the mesage but I forget what one it was. And i might use dvdxcopy again when I get some other media to do testing (when Im bored). Do you remember what the software was called, I tried a few differnet names/titles in the search bar but I couldnt find anything.
