Can anyone tell me how I can get my pc to accept cookies for certain sites. I never had this problem until my cable internet service got disconnected and I started using AOL 9.0. I assumming, AOL is blocking cookies. Is there something that I can do?

  2. do you still use IE with AOL 9.0 (I have no clue how AOL works). But in tools/internet options, there is a setting for cookies and you can change the settings around. There is also the general settings for low/medium/high risk for websites you can modify.

If using IE, go to Tools > Options, click on the Privacy tab and click the sites button. Here you can add sites to allow cookies from, regardless of your Privacy policy.

    If in doubt, Google it.

AOL uses IE as the core for there web browser. You should just be able to go to start>control panel>internet options>privacy and set the cookie options.

Also when you visit a site down in the lower right hand corner you'll see a small red icon that looks like a do not enter sign if AOL is blocking a cookie. Double click it and it will bring up the options for cookies.

If you really want to get drastic hit the advanced button and select overide automatic cookie handling. Then select block first part and block third party cookies, check the box next too all ow session cookies.

If you run into a site that won't work correctly because of cookies and you want to allow it double click the red circle in the lower right that looks like a do not enter sign. It pops up each time a cookie is blocked from a website. You can allow cookies on a site by site basis as needed.

Thanks, I will look into this (try it).
I already set the privicay slider all the way up, and manuly set up my favorite sites to alow cookies. I am still trying this setting, but it looks like I'm having troubles with the secondary pages at some sites. Having to log in to view them. For example I had to log in to type this, but I was able to view the message. We will see after I look at everything I look at each night.
    Thanks Mike
