You do not need a permit to carry a concealed handgun in the state of Vermont. My god dude get your finger off the triggers you are an accident waiting to happen.

I used to be a gun afficianado, but I'm not so much anymore now that I don't really have a use for them. I have a conceal-and-carry permit, but got rid of my handgun because I don't feel I need to carry one or even own one.

I'm an H&K nut. The handgun I had was an H&K USP .45 Tactical (same as the base USP but with the threaded barrel and o-rings). I had tried other handguns before getting that one but I liked how the USP pushed as opposed to kicked when fired. I sold it for the same amount I had bought it for after owning it two years 8)

My favorite rifle is my HK-91 slop-job. It started its life as a JLD PTR-1 which is an American-made HK-91 clone (better than the other clones like CETMEs and FALs) and I've modified it and replaced so many parts on it that it's mostly H&K now. The only thing left that's JLD is the action/barrel. It has an MSG-90 stock and trigger group (sans the "F" firing mode of course ), a grip and trigger stop from a PSG-1, and the barrel was cryo-treated locally by Diversified Cryogenics (had this done when I bought brake rotors from them). I can bench shoot .5 MOA with it on Federal match rounds all day, though Federal's 150gr Barnes bullets are even better for long ranges. I've got a crappy 3x12 Zeiss varminter scope on it now. Got it in the Cabela's Bargain Cave for $1000 just because it had been returned slightly used

That's pretty much my only gun. I sold all my others to get work done to it. Had a .375 H&H Remington 700 XCR that I sold to my brother and a Stevens side-by 10-gauge. I still have my trusty old deer gun, a Savage 110 .30-06 but I may sell that one too, I pretty much keep it around for sentimental value since it was my first gun and I hunted my first 6 seasons with it. Wonderful bolt, just needed a better trigger.

Yes see my last post, it's fairly easy to get one as long as your record is clean. The licenses are issued by the county sheriff so I would bet it varies. Where I live it's pretty easy because everyone and there grandmother owns a gun so there isn't a lot of ati-gun advocates around to bitch about it. If I had to put an estimate on it I would bet at least 1/3 the population was hunters if not more.
45 Bucks for 5 years in my neck of the woods (central PA). Just bought a replica Colt 45 made by Uberti (single action 6 shooter). I was totally shocked when the guy at Cabelas' said come back in about 10 minutes and you can pick up your gun. I didn't know you could just buy a handgun and get it the same day.

Well they have that instant check, when I got mine all the guy did was call on the phone and give them the info on the application. Like you said 10 minutes.
