My sig has never jammed. Well except for the time my brother was drinking and made fake bullets. Didn't have enough powder in them to move the slide far enough.

I had a Kurtz 380 that fit into a holster that was shaped like a wallet. I think the wallet holster was called A Bigger Suprise! Cool little setup though

I have a few knives, mostly Gerber and CRKT.

I used to keep one CRKT Navajo in my pocket, but the clip screws are coming loose. I have to take it to Sears and "check the fit" of their mini torx screwdrivers. Yes, I'm cheap.

I have a Gerber on my work belt. Comes in handy a lot.

I haven't bought a new knife in ages.

I've thought about getting a gun, but there aren't enough places to shoot around here.

I have a Kershaw with one of those thumb levers. It's so smooth you can open it with the flick of wrist, don't even have to thumb it. Completely legal since there's no mechanical mechanism.

Yeah, I like those. I have two versions of the same knife, but I don't remember the brand or name of the series. Anyway, one is big and one is small. The big one flips out just like yours, with or without the thumb lever.

After reading through this thread, I'm actually going to go down and look for my knives. I have them packed away somewhere, from the last house cleaning. I should probably oil and polish them, too. I hope they haven't rusted.

Just make sure you never use 147 grain bullets. The Evans & Marshall one-shot stop statistics are terrible for that weight bullet. Better to use the 125 or even 115 gr Especially avoid the 147 Gr. Hydra-Shok :P

I always recommend a .40 S&W over 9mm cause they come in similar sized guns, etc. But it's a matter of personal preference. And, one thing that makes the one-shot statistics seem irrelevant is the double-tap

Heh...One of the main reasons I really like my 9mm, is, it only weighs 14oz. (just checked to make sure). 20oz fully loaded.

My wife is a revolver type person.. (she has a snub nosed S&W .38, and a colt .38 ) etc.

Curious, Capmaster.. What's your standpoint on Desert Eagle soon being entirely American made, instead of just assembled in America? I'm a made in America type of guy - I just hope it dosnt effect the quality of the weapons produced... Noticed on your link you seem to take pride in the fact they're Israeli made, is why I was wondering.

Well, the same company that makes the DE makes the Uzi, the Galil, and a few other superbly-made guns. They're so tight, and like jewelry in the pride that went into them 8)

Yes, I buy American when possible, to support our economy instead of someone else's, but there's just nothing like the DE 8) . I'd hate to see the quality drop. And ...Israel could use the business anyways

Capmaster, by the end of 2005, DE will be an entirely american made product (due to import/export restrictions, they're slowly phasing it entirely to made in the states). I'll try and find a couple of the articles I was reading and post the links here.

Here's a cool link with the velocity / energy ratings of all sorts of their weapons etc... Check it out.

    http://www.imi-israel.com/

(it's under Ammunition, small arms ammunition, products, and there are 3 ballistics tables listed).

Magnum Research (mpls.MN I think) is just the importer. They don't make anything. IMI is the manufacturer

And ...use the edit button to add something instead of a cluster of posts

Acutally, I think they're doing some of the assembly now. Not 100% on that though, but I know some of the parts are now being assembled in the states.

Probably part of their transition to a US product.

I hope that drives down the cost of conversion kits. They're too much for me to justify just for the novelty value. Nice, but ...no

Move here the only qualification is being 18 and no criminal record. You can just about get one as easy as buying a gallon of milk.

  21. I was cleaning my Glock today and thought -- WTF let me take a digital pic and post it up ...

    Aint she a beauty ??

The nice thing about a Glockenspiel is it doesn't require a conceal and carry permit. I can take her anywhere I want.

In the right hands and within hearing range -- it can be EQUALLY AS DANGEROUS as a handgun!!!

  22. It's not that hard to get one here either.

If I recall correctly you have to be part of a shooting club and complete a safety program. If you want to store a weapon at home you also need a gun safe.

It was really just an idea we had after some drinking, like other great ideas such as learning Wing Chu or going skydiving.

I have always heard that more pepole are killed by there own guns or the houshold gun. I don't Know if it is true, but it would be a good reason not to have one around. I got two kids both boys. Nothing in the house is safe. I keep the ammo locked up (too poor for a gun safe) but I rember being a kid and nothing that I knew about was safe from my reach.

It is -- but they make a nice little stand so you can practice at home w/o marching around the livingroom. It's more convenient that way and doesn't wear out the carpet.
