  1. i checked this in the avi codec, and this is what i got:

    File : 306 MB (306 MB), duration: 0:24:24, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 85 %

    Video : 277 MB, 1590 Kbps, 119.880 fps, 640*480 (4:3), WMV3 = Windows Media Video 9, Supported

    Audio : 29 MB, 167 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

i use vlc media player to watch my files, but this file plays sound but shows no pictures

  2. my knowledge of vlc media player is limited but, i had a problem with media player classic (with exception that my problem was audio not video) like this. You might want to try different video output settings in vlc media player. If its playing in windows media player it seems like you would have the necessary codecs. If that fails you might want to try a different program to check what codec the file needs. Gspot is pretty darn usefull.
