I have read , researched, studied, and read.. the issue of dropping, dropping frames has been my biggest issue to date, I have:
Read Lordsmurfs guides as well as others.
Tweaked my system to no end.
Researched google on this matter.
asked the unknown powers beyond me to HELP.
I use an ATI AIW 9600 Pro.. does it really matter?
After a month of a fresh format I start dropping frames, I used to clear at least 30 GB of drive space to see if that helped, I started my recording from VHS to my computer from my Digital Cam many times, sometimes it helped , sometimes it did not, I unplugged my lan cable and everything inbetween,
I format once a month on the average.. I NEVER drop frames after a fresh format. So I am thinking after installing so many apps will create running proccess that are hidden and disrupting the capture proccess.
Just sharing my exp.
Hope it helps.
And yes, capturing family video is worth a fresh format.
Comments welcome. But please spare me of the regular advice as I feel I haver read it all.. lol.. anyone else have better results after a fresh format?
