I've created a menu in TMPGenc DVD Author 1.6. I'm having a problem with the second menu which is a song selection menu. Some of the songs do not get highlighted. All of the setting are correct. I've played the vobs from the harddrive in my default DVD player and everything is fine. When they are burned onto a DVDRW and played in my stand alone DVD player this is when the problem happens. This is the first time I've come across this problem.

Have you used a software DVD player like Powerdvd to play it from your hard drive? Did the menus work then? Have you tried a different set top dvd player? Is this your first dvd with a chapter menu or have you had success with it before?

Yes I have used a software dvd player. When using the mouse all the song titles can be selected but if I use the arrow keys, the same song titles are not highlighted. Now here is the strange part. I installed DVD-Lab demo (100% better than TMPGenc by far) and created the same menu from scratch and guess what. The same problem happened with that menu. I even tried burning the files in my other DVD burner using nero instead of the burn programs that are in with the DVD authoring programs. I tried the DVDRW on 5 other DVD players and they did the same thing. I really don't know what to do. I have made a few DVDs with chapter menu but this is the first time this has happened. It's really strange that 2 different programs would create the same problem.

  4. Did you check to see that the menu selection you want, get's highlighted? (the Map button).
Did you inadvertently (sp) set transparency? (the Color button).

Thanks guys. I've fixed the problem in DVD-Lab. I had the Auto-Route turn on. Well I am a newbie to DVD-Lab. As for TMPGenc, I don't know what happened but I won't be using it anymore.

Reboot, that is one great beginners guide to DVD-Lab you made. Any chance another guide that shows what DVD-Lab can do?
