EF the X Wing. Why are the Star Wars ships xalled Wings anyways. They dont' have wings. Stars Ships don't rely on aerodynamics to fly.

The "wings" are just gun turrets. You don't use wings in space.

And they are X Wings because of the Two wings crossing each other like an x. And yes they don't need aerodynamics in Space to fly. BUT if you've read any of the novels they outperform the IMPERIAL aircraft in atmospheres BECAUSE they have wings.....

Ok let's get this straight - Episode 1-3 are PREQUELS! They EXPLAIN the original trilogy. The whole point is to fill in the gaps. And in A NEW HOPE they were just trying to get the whole notion of another universe off the ground. Now that it has been firmly established they can go into more detail.

And the Midichlorians AREN'T the FORCE. They're a BRIDGE to connect to the force. Actually it was a nice way to explain why some are more FORCE STRONG then others. They have more Midichlorian symbiots then others (I actually don't know how to spell symbiont ).

TREK is TECHNICAL because it all has to have a purpose. And actually TECHNOBABBLE is part of the legend and charm of STAR TREK itself :P :P :P

The a wing is simply one wing that is SORTA like an a if you turned it with the nose pointed up and looked top down at the cockpit.

The b wing is really bizzare.... Hard to describe in written terms.....

I play the video games and watch the movies, but I don't read the novels.

I only know the specx of the ships because you have to know which ship is right for which mission.

I find myslef watching the movies being like (in heavy geek accent) "this scene is totally unbelievable that ship could never out run a ship of that class"

I like to just watch the movie with out analyzling the technical flaws.

The more specs they give the more I analyze. I try not to, but I am a software tester. It is my job to bitch about stuff some else with more skills did.

And I am damn good at my job.

I was quite disappointed when I found out that Natalie Portman had the director cut the Topless footage from the Movie Closer.

I was going to write her an email explaining that the majority of Oscar Nominated and Oscar Winning Actresses in the Last 20 or 30 years have appeared at least topless at least onc ein their careers.

But then I thought about some random email like this from some guy would probably scare her.

And be counter productive and result in a restraining order against me and her having the footage burnered.

So I did not write the email to her.

But I still stand by my theory that Most Oscar Nominated and Winning Actresses in the Last 30 years has appeared at least Topless at least once in thier carer.

As for the Wing classification, the ships can fly in atmospheres and they need some sort of wing setup, but not much. Even today's fighter jet's don't need much wing as it causes drag, but the wing span they do have does give some stability and lift. Same thing with the tie-fighters. They have other engines and setup that gives them lift, but they use the wing for solar engery and and stability in areas where there is an atmosphere.

I think Lucas is doing an exceptional job, but I'd like to see him do more model building and use them as the main item for a vehicle, but use the CGI technology to make it more realistic. Kind of mix the 2 together so you have something that is actually 3D for the film. I liked how he cleaned up the stop-motion in the remastered versions and I think that's a great use of CGI.
